Dr.
C's Story
Within three weeks, the pain was subsiding. He reported a two pound weight loss. Within four months, he reported with delight he was able to hike 5 miles, ski downhill, resume fly fishing and consistently beat his tennis partner (first time in five years). As of June 1, 1999, Dr. C is still pain free, playing tennis most days, fly fishing. and weight training. He continues to stretch and walk dynamically. "When I started with Suki Munsell last fall, I couldn't walk for more than ten minutes with out pain and hadn't played tennis, skied or gone fly fishing for over a year. A weight-training program left me with less pain in general and some improvement in my tolerance for activity, but I was getting pretty discouraged. I told Suki that if I could ski before February '98, I'd walk up and down the Boardwalk wearing a sandwich sign advertising her program. I don't like giving testimonials, but this seems the lesser of two evils. On Jan. 11th, I took a lesson on the new parabolic skis, and on the 12th I skied North Star with 5 inches of 'Sierra Cement". I had no back pain, but after 3 hours, searing pain in my quadriceps which sent me to the bar to wait for my friends. When it isn't raining, I can play two sets of singles tennis with out pain. With a series of one and no control studies, I can only offer my subjective evaluation. I feel confident that Suki's training made the difference for me. Unfortunately, it hasn't improved my ability to keep my eyes on a tennis ball, or to keep leaning downhill when I come to a steep slope on skis."
