WHY YOU NEED
TO LEARN HOW TO WALK

The American Podiatry Association estimates that the average person takes 8,000 - 10,000 steps a day, exclusive of exercise walking. Yet, poor postural habits and faulty biomechanics can make walking a repetitive stress to our bodies.

In a single lifetime, each of us might walk 115, 000 miles, more than four times the circumference of the globe.

Sixty seven million Americans report walking regularly for exercise.

Most of us want to walk gracefully into our later years. Walking is too precious a resource to take for granted.

At the Dynamic Health and Fitness Institute, we believe that over 50% of muscular skeletal pain can be reduced or eliminated by walking and stretching dynamically. That's why we created the Dynamic Fitness Method. Practicing this system can help you, as it has helped thousands of others, to rebuild your body as you walk, alleviate injuries and prevent problems.

We have identified Six Common Walking Problems which, over time, can wreck havoc on the untrained walker. The good news is that we each have thousands of opportunities a day to make a change, slowly and surely, just by paying attention.

Two of the most common unidentified problems are Overstriding and Poor Push Off. Perhaps seventy five percent of walkers have one of these problems and are not aware of the potential injury or lost opportunity for a great workout. We suggest you begin by reading about these first two problems. Then read the other photos and articles of interest to you.

If improving your walk and biomechanics are important to you, choose the Curriculum Materials and Products to order Exercises for Common Walking Problems and the audio and video training tapes.
